Lullabies For Little Crimes

About This Song

This is a lullaby about that time between being awake and asleep— which can be a disconcerting time. Maybe you’re worried about the future, maybe you’re worried you won’t sleep or maybe thoughts you had been avoiding are surfacing up. It’s why there's this whole genre of music called lullabies which are supposed to calm you down. And that's what I wanted this song to do.

Lyrics

Who knows what dream is approaching now
Between your thoughts, two by two
You slip and fall along the shore,
Horizons fall, begin and end

Steve are you running?
Taking the money?
Rummage around with your hound dog heart
You should get some sleep

Poetry waits,
Hidden away,
Painted on walls of impoverished hearts
Just to break the rain

Lullaby for little crimes
You’re worlds apart, drifting through
Sleep tonight eternal shores
Dance along, horizons door

Steve are you running?
Taking the money?
Rummage around with your hound dog heart,
You should get some sleep

Poetry waits
Hidden away
Painted on walls of impoverished hearts
Just to break the rain
Buildings will crumble
Defile the city
Publicly smile
Privately curse in pain
All of these swirling
Chaotic dreams
Resolve in the night
In time you will find release
